Five Minute Friday: Fight

I have a lot going on this month. Did I mention that I joined a 31 day challenge to write 500 words everyday? And today it was suggested that those of us doing the challenge try writing freestyle. That is no editing or correcting. I thought of how I used to do Five Minute Friday just for fun and decided I would go to Lisa Jo Baker’s site and give her Five Minute Friday a try. Since it is Friday and all.

The rules to Five Minute Friday is no over thinking and no editing. Today’s word is “Fight”.

Set the timer and GO!

Fight. When you can think of anything else to do.

Fight. When the battle seems too hard.

Fight When you know you need to work on a task.

Fight. When you can’t see the end.

Fight. When you know you are right.

Fight. When you want to be heard.

Fight. When you can’t see the end.

Fight. When you can’t think of anything else to write about. Fight. This isn’t working for me.

What am I doing. I feel like I’m wasting time trying to think of something to say about Fight. Hmmm…

So I’m aimlessly typing to see how many words I can type in 5 minutes. I don’t think I’m doing to well.

I need to just forget Five Minute Friday and just write something that I was thinking about today. Like Childhood memories. That would be interesting.

I can’t think of anything fight related right now. I reckon I might could think of something if I really tried but we are suppose to be writing this without over thinking it or editing it. So I may not post this anyway..

I will not fight the words that are coming out of my finger tips right now. I will not fight the urge to just type aimlessly and I only have 47 seconds to go. I will fight and move on for all of the 29 seconds remaining.

I will never give up. I will not surrender. I will fight writers block. I will win! And…

STOP!

Yep, that was all I had. I tried it again and it only got worse. So I am giving you my first unedited complete with typos post. It’s better than nothing, right? However after I wrote this post I decided to go ahead and write on that childhood memory. I will share that story later after I have a chance to actually edit it. Today’s post was just a freebie. I thought I would lighten things up a bit and do something fun.

If you would like to read other Five Minute Friday posts you can check them out here.

Thanks for following my blog. What would you like to see from my blog in 2014? I will be writing 500 words everyday. Some of them will be blog posts and some will be towards books.

For a little added fun, (I like to have fun.) is there something you would like me to write about? Tell me any subject you would like to see and I will do my best to write something for you. It may be serious or as silly as this Five Minute Friday. Go ahead leave a comment and give me a try.

I’m just a little excited about this little experiment. 🙂 Happy New Year!

I’m glad to know that I’m not the only one who struggled with this idea. This is my first “Five Minute Friday,” and I think I wrote three of them before I was slightly happy with what I wrote. I also think about my youngest child and how she has to fight to be heard in our boisterous house.

Thank you, Leslie! I have done Five Minute Friday in the past but it has been a while. I thought it would be easy just to jump back in but my mind pretty much went blank with today’s prompt.

I like how you tied “fight” in with raising your children. And it is true sometimes the youngest does have to fight to be heard. 🙂 It’s nice to meet you!

Hi! Just surfing by from Five Minute Friday. I was unable to log onto the blog of the link before mine, so I skipped over to you. LOVE the honesty about coming up with words to say. Blessings!

Thank you, Ashley! I don’t know why I saw the writing prompt and immediately drew a blank. LOL

I loved your post. After reading several really great posts I wondered why I couldn’t come up with anything better. 🙂 I’ve been enjoying all the great perspectives others have on fighting.

Thanks for this. It hit me too. Sometimes it feels like I have nothing to write and then I feel like throwing in the towel. I am grateful that you posted this just as it is. I could sooo relate to the feelings and thoughts — and the worries, I’m sure, about what everyone would think of your lack of “polish” or whatever. Honestly, though, I have to say it was a blessing to read someone’s rendition of what goes on in my brain as well sometimes. Sometimes we just have to go at it regardless of what comes — push through it and not fight it, but fight it all the same. Glad you did.

Hi Anastacia, this was fun and I enjoyed it. You are a funny lady with a refreshing style of writing. I like when you write about family, and extended family. I enjoyed your marriage series alot and found it had great wisdom for all stages of life. You should just be you!

I enjoy a good challenge too!! Last year, I challenged myself to start a blog and write EVERYDAY for 365 days! I did it and now, I am trying to keep it going. FMF gave me something to write about on Friday and it also led me to some great bloggers like you! Happy New Year!

This is a funny post, Anastacia! Your reasons for fighting are all good! I cannot write off hand on a specific topic. My book was done the other way around. I wrote what came to me when I woke up, and then, I gave it a title.

I have a suggestion for you to write on a post. “Stars and Galaxies”
Make it as serious or as funny as you want!

    Blessings and Love!

Ha ha! Thank you, Laura! I wanted to find a picture that had something to do with fighting after I wrote my post. I had never shared that picture of the young’ns wearing their Christian Armor from last Summer. It doesn’t have much to do with fighting writer’s block but I thought it was cute none the less.

Did you notice the challenge Katina just gave me? I’ll write a stars and galaxies post and share it in a few days. 🙂

You got some good points about fighting, otherwise I think our aim is ho NOT fight. I think you got that right too! I love to read about your familly life. You explain it so well. And it is so calming and loving with the honesty you use your faith in everything you all do.
